Our baklava product, which uses the same phyllo dough, was tested and found to be in compliance with the FDA gluten-free requirement. FDA requirements can be found here.
Even though our baklava product is considered celiac safe according to FDA parameters, we disclose how batches are handled since we do produce wheat-containing products in the same oven and facility. Below are precautions taken:
- Dedicated baking days for gluten-free batches to avoid cross-contamination
- Washing of all surfaces prior to preparing gluten-free batches
- With the exception of the oven, we use dedicated equipment for GF batches (ex pans & utensils)

Store for up to 1-2 months in the freezer.
Immediately store items in the freezer upon arrival.
Let thaw at room temperature. Avoid re-freezing when possible and only thaw needed amounts.
Our Story
Started from a dorm
Nour is originally from Libya and she informally founded Oea Bakery from her college dorm room in July 2019.
She used to sell baklava at a Farmer's market and to friends via social media. It is now run alongside her family in Denver, CO.
